NRG is a Dutch owned and operated business specializing in high quality kite board production with unique custom design options. NRG is a rider-driven company where boards are developed by riders for riders!
All boards are manufactured by hand in our production centre in Germany, using the best material available: carbon, bamboo, timber, fiberglass and other plastics. Our boards are tested in real world circumstances: choppy North Sea, Atlantic swell, 100km+ down winders and flat water lakes.
Our shapers have been building kite boards for over 10 years.

While most companies develop their range up upon top class riders, we strongly believe that 90% of the riders is much better off with more comfortable, durable, flexible and easy to ride boards.
We have an extensive testing program that ensures you get perfectly tuned rocker, concave, flex and outline giving you unreal ride quality. The difference is in the “custom” ride!

BOARDS
All of the kite boards were carefully developed, crafted and tuned, and are able to cover all styles of riding and all skills. From beginner to pro rider, from free rider to wave rider, anyone can choose a NRG board according to his specific needs and have fun.
Freestyle Series
The Freestyle series are developed for riders who are pushing Freestyle Kite boarding to heaven’s level. This is the board for demanding riders who are looking for a pure Freestyle board that will perform in all conditions. For wake stylers, additional wake boot inserts can be constructed.
The Freestyle series feature the most aggressive and uncompromised flex pattern that will pop you to the next level of your riding.
The boards feature an asymmetrical outline, straight on the heel rail and curved on the toe side. This new outline, combined with an innovative rocker line (curved in the stiffer centre and flat in the flexible tips) will give the best pop on the water. The flex tips provide control even during the most abusive landings.
The 3D flex concept provide the Freestyle Series with a stiff base to match the wider stance on the board and guarantees pop on demand. The flex tips provide control even during the most abusive landings. An additional 3D stringer technology, combined with thing honeycomb structures and extra layers of fibre on each side makes the board almost unbreakable.
The edge grip in the water and the upwind ability is unreal, combined with the dynamic 5mm concave the predominant manoeuvrability is incredible.
Wave – Free ride series
When it has developed the R&D team has focused on usability and performance. This board serie is designed to be very controllable in rough water and in small-medium to medium-large waves. It is a rounded squash tail shape and the length is optimized for kiting. This is a unique type of board which blends the surf handling feeling with outstanding upwind abilities and free ride speed. The mutant style design combined with the lightweight construction make it very dynamic and easy to handle in a wide range of wind and wave conditions.
The Wave-Free ride series are a new generation board range. The boards combines the accuracy and easy handling of a twin tip with the surf feel of a directional one. As a bonus: the boards will fit in your small Golf player kite bag and is therefore ideal for travelling.
It features a compact and dynamic shape and has a rounder outline. This profile makes it very agile on the water. It is easy to power up in light wind conditions and incredible stable in windy conditions. The board excels in gusty wind and wave conditions and allows the rider to experience a nice thrill. The board packs plenty of power and can be used by extreme riders who love to perform amazing tricks, but it is very user friendly at the same time, so it is also great for a fun cruise. NRG sets up a thruster fin combination and a squash tail on this serie to make sure it offers plenty of power and it delivers nice jumps and lifts. The board also offers awesome bottom turns and reaches an impressive speed.
The tail is designed for the tri fin set up; the nose has a twin fin box. The board is made with a solid high density core with a top quality lay-up. This makes the board almost indestructible for wave riding and jumping. The board is fun to ride on lake swells as well. The Mutant has comfortable medium flex, speedy rocker, and carves nicely.
Features and benefits: big air, endless grip, increased edge for maximum edge control and airline friendly. The directional rocker line drives the board upwind, can be set up as a directional (jibbed) or ridden as a twin tip. The Wave – Free ride series is a fun toy for big boys to ride in waves or light wind conditions.

LW Series
This Light Wind board serie is designed to get you up and planning in 10 knots or less with the same performance as you would expect from our NRG freestyle boards. A light wind fire starter designed to get you out when most can’t. The LW series are developed with a flat bottom and a slight concave, resulting in a considerable pop and very early planning.
Our goal is to make it technically possible to ride from 10 knots to 28 knots with just one kite!
The LW serie is the board that helps you to maximize your progress. It has to be easy to ride, durable. The LW serie is developed to cover all conditions.
With two different size models you are sure to find the perfect fit for your size, weight, and skill level.
The 3D flex concept technology is adjusted for each individual board size to compensate for intended rider weight. It is combined with channel concaves with flex tips provide forgiving handling, great performance and maximum versatility.
The LW can be made in our traditional technology in order to make it more affordable, since it is usually used as a second board.
Speed Series
We sense a growing interest in speed sailing in kite surfing. GPS speed competitions are becoming more and more popular. Many riders are hunting the 50 knots boundary.
The speed board and kite designs seem to have stagnated over the past couple of years, and this means the chance of big advances in speed are unlikely unless some out the box thinking gets put into action. Due to this, it is more and more important to customize your design. Difference can be made by adapting the custom development and design of the boards by the riders weight, strength and riding skill.
NRG Speed series have several custom options:
